Ureaplasma and mycoplasma

Metamycoplasma hominis
Metamycoplasma hominis, formally, mycoplasma hominis, is sexually transmitted. Healthy women usually do not need to worry about the presence of this microbe, but it can be responsible for infections in some, causing Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) like symptoms. Antibiotics are required for treatment. M. hominis can be a risk factor for HIV transmission, especially in people with high levels of the bacteria in their vagina.

Ureaplasma Parvum
Ureaplasma is passed between couples during intercourse. It is not an uncommon microbe to
be found in the vagina, and most women carrying it are unaware. It can occasionally cause symptoms (burning, frequent urination, discharge), increase presence of Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) microbes, and its been associated with poorer pregnancy outcomes, cases of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) and Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs). Ureaplasma Parvum is found more commonly in the vaginal microibiome of women than ureaplasma urealyticum.

Ureaplasma urealyticum
Ureaplasma is passed between couples during intercourse. It is not an uncommon microbe to be found in the vagina, and most women carrying it are unaware.
