What is Microbiome-led Care?

A healthy vaginal microbiome should show dominance of beneficial lactobacillus bacteria.

HIGH

> 95% lactobacillus bacteria

A low amount of lactobacillus bacteria allows opportunistic microbes to take up space, resulting in an unbalanced vaginal microbiome.

When this dominance is disrupted, opportunistic bacteria and yeast can proliferate, leading to a range of symptoms and conditions.

Unlike the gut microbiome, where diversity is key, dominance of the acid-producing lactobacillus is protective of good genitourinary health, and supports resilience in this environment.
