Adenomyosis is a condition in which the tissue that normally lines the womb (uterus) begins to grow into the muscle wall of the uterus. There are treatments available to help manage some of the symptoms. Adenomyosis is most commonly diagnosed in women over the age of 30.

Other symptoms can occur at any time throughout your menstrual cycle, including:

  • Pelvic pain (pain in the lower abdomen)
  • Bloating, heaviness, or a feeling of fullness in the abdomen
