Super Strength Aloe Vera by Desert Harvest
At Pelvic Relief our focus on gynaecological health meant we formed a very natural partnership with Desert Harvest and we are proud to be their exclusive distribution partner in the UK. Desert Harvest has over two decades of experience manufacturing and delivering products to support Women’s Pelvic Health.
While Desert Harvest offers dietary supplements and skincare to remedy a broad list of issues today, their story begins with the foundational passion to treat bladder disorders, support those suffering from Bladder Pain Syndrome / Interstitial Cystitis and to help individuals to manage bladder symptoms.
What is IC / BPS?
Bladder pain syndrome is a poorly understood condition where you have a range of symptoms including urinary urgency (an urgent need to pass urine) urinary frequency (a feeling like you need to go regularly), frequent nocturia (waking regularly at night to pass urine), this is accompanied by intense bladder pressure and pelvic pain, in the bladder, perineum (between the legs) or in the urethra (tube from the bladder).
Often it starts with the feeling you have a urinary tract infection (UTI) or cystitis but the symptoms go on much longer than they should and are not resolved with typical treatments. The name interstitial cystitis (IC) came about because it was believed that these patients had a chronic (long lasting) bladder infection. However it is now understood that it is far more complex, many people do not have a chronic infection or if they do the infection is not the cause of all of their symptoms so Bladder Pain Syndrome (BPS) is a name that you may now hear more commonly. It can affect anyone but is much more common in women than men, usually over the age of 30.
Why is my Body Reacting Like This?
There is lots of evidence now pointing to the changes in the way the brain is perceiving the messages it is receiving from the pelvic organs and bladder in particular. The brain is reacting as if the bladder is under severe and ongoing threat and is paying too much attention to this area of the body, interpreting signals from the bladder incorrectly and with high degrees of pain interpretation. This is combined with tension in the muscles of the pelvic floor, feeding into further cycles of pain. Anyone who has suffered from IC / BPS will know that this cannot be understated. The symptoms can be debilitating and affect every area of an individual's life, relationships, work, travel and life.
How does Aloe Vera work?
Desert Harvest is a company working hard to help understand and provide treatment options to individuals suffering from IC / BPS. Their story began with trying to find a treatment for a family member diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis. This built to a foundational passion to support those suffering from Interstitial Cystitis / Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS). After researching possible treatments the anti inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal properties of Aloe Vera were recognised. Working with a chemist friend, Desert Harvest developed a way to concentrate the Aloe Vera and also make it safe for long term use in high doses. Based on the recommended IC/BPS dosage of 3600 mg per day, many brands are not affordable or safe in the long run, although they initially seem so. Some brands have so little Aloe Vera per capsule that it would require you to take up to 72 capsules per day.
Desert Harvest Super-Strength Aloe Vera Capsules have been shown in clinical trials to effectively reduce bladder pain, urinary frequency and urgency, pelvic pain, and urethral burning that are a part of many bladder disorders, but especially IC / BPS and non-bacterial prostatitis. Desert Harvest Aloe Vera is anti-bacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic containing over 200 nutrients, 75 of which are active including Acemannan (ACE), D- Mannose, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which adhere to the bladder mucosal lining and support a healthy microbiome. No harsh chemicals or side effects. You can read about exciting new clinical trials, the science and research here in our interview with CEO Heather Florio.
Desert Harvest supports the Interstitial Cystitis / Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS) community with the highest quality Super-Strength Aloe Vera tablets. They have done the research and surveyed over 50,000 IC/BPS customers to know what works for them, in what dosage, and how long it takes to feel the positive effects. Desert Harvest Super-Strength Aloe supplements have the highest concentration of 100% organic freeze-dried Aloe per capsule with no fillers, anthraquinones, or insoluble fibre, so you only need 6 per day. Desert Harvest is the only safe and effective Aloe for IC/BPS.
We are proud to be able to bring Desert Harvest Aloe capsules to our customers in the UK and continue to champion solutions for bladder health.
“After trying many medications and treatments for IC without any success, thought I would give these ago. And I'm so glad I did. Have helped enormously with the frequency of this debilitating condition.” Cynthia, Pelvic Relief Customer
